Honest Conclusion
„For me, Iberico is a true labour of love in the Old Town. Christoph Filip embodies the Iberian Peninsula — you can taste and feel the passion in every detail. If you're looking for tapas, great wine, and the feeling of a lazy Sunday afternoon in Lisbon or Madrid, this is the place. My tip: share several tapas, pair them with a glass of Vinho Verde, and absolutely finish with a Pastél de Nata."

About Iberico
Hidden away in Chiemseegasse in the heart of Salzburg’s Old Town, Iberico brings a slice of Spain and Portugal to the city. Our host, Christoph Filip, shares a deep, lifelong connection with both countries. His numerous travels, an appreciation for the culture, and a love for the local cuisine and wine inspired the creation of Iberico. You can feel this personal enthusiasm in every detail of the restaurant. We don't believe in a rigid, oversized menu; instead, we offer rotating tapas and small plates that are freshly prepared, often available only while supplies last. Our selection includes classic Spanish and Portuguese favorites like tortilla, gazpacho, bifanas, albondigas, jamón, and pastel de nata, alongside modern culinary interpretations. Wine plays a central role here, too. Many of our wines and sparkling wines are imported directly and are available to enjoy by the glass or to purchase for home. You will also find a curated selection of typical products, spices, and Portuguese ceramics. Iberico feels less like a traditional restaurant and more like a small culinary escape to the Iberian Peninsula: order a few tapas, share a variety of dishes, pair them with a great glass of wine, and simply stay a while.

🍽️ My Favourite Dish
Pastéis de Nata
"My personal favorite at Iberico: the Pastéis de Nata. Crispy puff pastry on the outside with a wonderfully creamy filling inside—a Portuguese classic that I find impossible to resist. For me, it is the perfect sweet ending after a few tapas and a glass of wine, and a little piece of Portugal right here in Salzburg."
