Across three Advent weekends the stalls stand in the middle of the forest below the Untersberg at the Latschenwirt: wild game, home-made fish, bacon and bread, plus traditional craft, music and something hot to warm up. Children can write a letter to the Christkind, and on the second Advent weekend St Nicholas and the Hinterreiter Krampusse come by.

28/29 November, 5/6 and 12/13 December 2026, 13:00–18:00 each day.
Park at the Salzburg Open-Air Museum, from where a shuttle runs to the Latschenwirt.
The programme includes alphorn players, the Großgmain brass band, the children's Krampus on 5 December and St Nicholas with the Hinterreiter Krampusse on 6 December.

Home-made Kaiserschmarrn with fresh ice cream
„A Kaiserschmarrn the way it should be: golden brown outside, fluffy inside, torn into pieces and still warm from the pan, with a scoop of fresh ice cream. Idyllic in the middle of the forest between the fire bowls, it tastes twice as good to me."

A walk first, then a punch
If you want a bit of fresh air before the Bauernadvent, walk a stretch of the forest quiz trail. At the Latschenwirt keep left and follow the signs into the forest. For a short round, walk as far as the quiz stations and come back the same way. That is exactly what I would do with Gigi. And afterwards the punch tastes even better.
