The Dorfgastein Advent market lasts a single day and fills the village park: speck, cheese, Fleischkrapfen, Bauernkrapfen and schnapps from the region, alongside decorated craft stalls. The brass band plays in the afternoon and around 17:00 the Dorfgastein Anklöckler arrive, the old custom that re-enacts Mary and Joseph's search for shelter. The proceeds go to a good cause in the village each year.
