Asian fusion kitchen hidden in the Getreidegasse
I took a closer look at the East in Salzburg's historic old town.

When I wander through the Getreidegasse, I am usually not looking for Asian dishes. Yet, at number 36a, I find the East, a spot that has caught my eye during several strolls through the city. The menu is surprisingly broad, covering everything from classic sushi to hearty bulgogi, satisfying any craving for Asian flavors.
I particularly appreciate the seating in the Sterngarten on sunny days. The terrace is a genuine oasis of calm that you would hardly expect to find in the middle of the busy city center. It is the perfect place to switch off for a moment between shopping trips.
I enjoy the casual vibe of this place. You do not need to make long-term reservations or dress up; you simply get honest, well-prepared food in a relaxed environment. Whether for a quick lunch or a laid-back evening, it has become a staple on my personal Salzburg food guide.
